Matthias Knorr started playing the Drums at the age of 3.
Two years later he got his first professional drumlesson. His teacher tought him all the different styles of music – from Rock to Jazz, Fusion, Latin etc. and he quickly developed his skills & vocabulary on the drums.

In 2006 he studied Drums & Percussion at the Conservatory Arnhem (NL) with René Creemers, Joop van Erven & André Groen. Until then he had played in various jazz and pop formations - including the "Youth Jazz Orchestra NRW", with which he traveled around the world between 2006 and 2010 (Estonia, Southeast Asia, Israel, Malta and China).
In 2010 he graduated as the youngest student (at the age of 20) and began working as a professional musician and drum teacher. He took further lessons from Dave Weckl, Horacio "El Negro" Hernandez, Prof. José Cortijo and Hans Dekker (WDR BigBand).
He is currently working as a drummer in various bands and projects.
